Yeah, that's probably more accurate. The name was chosen at the same time
that .off-topic.debate was -- it's the juxtaposition of the two that help
give them their respective characters. Here are their charters:
lugnet.off-topic.fun (group):
Off-topic (non-LEGO®) discussions of a generally upbeat and positive
nature.
lugnet.off-topic.debate (group):
Off-topic (non-LEGO®) discussions: debates, controversies, etc.
.off-topic.fun definitely supports funny content, but doesn't require it.
It's basically for banter. It was conceived primarily (originally) to
handle things like breakfast cereals, television shows, pets, etc. --
whether funny or just fun. The word "fun" of course has several meanings,
and if taken most literally, it's a bit restrictive. The intended meaning
of "fun" in this context is "pleasant, enjoyable, amusing, etc." and not
much of "jesting" (although cleverly ambiguous jesting certainly has its
place from time to time :)
