First off, an event for more than 800 attendees has some expenses other than just the 'space' for panels, displays etc. Quite a few.Start with insurance., now I'm not sure about Virginia, but in my area the (...) Standard Lego firmware samples every 3 msec. BricOS is much faster. I believe it is faster than once per second. RobotC on NXT is programmable to be 0.5 msec scan, 1 msec, 2 msec, ... up to 255 msec. Interesting topic this.... I an not qualified to judge the issue of wether or not folks should be paid, but here are a few things to consider. -Workers for Non-Profit organizations are paid.
