Although I haven't tried it, someone has created a perl module for
sending commands here:

I haven't tried it because I'm working on a ruby module :)

It has a built-in CSR Bluetooth module that is 1.1 (...) (18 years ago, 6-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)
