agreed icky clicky

Now that I think more on the click hinges, there is a click hinge frame and windscreen that I’ve wished to try to build into a German DB high-speed ICE-3 train. But, I haven’t discovered the frame element in color white.

my nit pick: where is the dark stone grey train wheels?

Agreed, dark stone grey train wheels would be nice.

In general, the shapes are quick to pick out; the quantities and colors more difficult....

I do not know if this parts kit should build a few full-on models or simply contain parts to add to one’s own collection in order to build more trains. I certainly would think that having the set build at least one model or two would be nice, but a full-on model may use a lot of non-train basic brick and plate-- and that bulk could lessen the diversity of parts in both shape and color. Maybe the LEGO System Train line would continue to offer train model sets, and that this Train parts pack set serves mainly to enhance the product line and inspire more custom MOCs. Maybe the new IR Train system models can be upgraded or enhanced by whatever parts are included in a Train Parts pack?

I have digressed too far into the “what if’s”. Now back to simply listing and discussing what parts we think are useful to build LEGO trains...and hoping that a Train Parts pack will be realized for sale. Regardless of its contents, it would be another LEGO train product, and that can only be a good thing to help us build more trains.

James Mathis

(...) i agree on the ratio 2:1 but for the colors i would rather see all of the green parts as dark green. now yes dark green is more valuble which would make a good excuse in its self but the real reason is dark green is more valuble to (...) (19 years ago, 21-Sep-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)
