Good point, it hadn't occured to me to do this in this context, I think
attempting to fit all the bits into as small a space as possible was
clouding my judgement. It would be good to try it on the drivetrain but I'm
not sure if it would be possible now - the centre axle doesn't have too much
friction on it anyway since those wheels are relatively lightly sprung. I'm
going to have to look into this :-)
It is possible to optimise the drivetrain BTW, using less gears - I had to
do this after replacing the 2 PP3 battery packs with a battery pack
consisting of 8 AA NiMh rechargeables giving 9.6V and a lot more current.
The extra power made a huge difference, but trashed the drivetrain as it
was.

Definitely, a trip to Holland would be great, and seeing the sights would be
excellent!

| BONK! (Intended to be sound of jaw dropping on desk...) What keeps surprising me is how much functionality you manage to squeeze into so little space... Anyone else attempting all these functions would end up with a model twice this size... About (...) (23 years ago, 27-Jun-02, to lugnet.technic)
