I think it's obvious that it's a 'Model Team' set by nature.
I have only 3 Model Team sets but I got the impression that all of them
contain at least some Technic elements and have some functions.
What differentiates this line from the Technic line is that in this line the
function is not the important part - it's just something cool to add to the
main attraction - the looks of the set.

That's an attempt to define a 'Technic set'.
It's not a bad one but that's not exactly what I'm talking about.
I think almost any set released nowadays has at least one Technic element, so
we are left with the definition "released under the Technic name by TLC" -
well, it seems to be the only objective definition of a 'Technic set' but what
I'm talking about is subjective by nature: The 'Technic spirit' or something
to that affect - What I'm really saying is: The Bionicle line shouldn't have
been released under the Technic line.

Actually I was quite happy with the droids and I was happy to call them a
'Technic set' I think their main feature was their functions.

That's a good point. If you feel that way then I guess you'd consider the
Bionicle line 'Technic' also in the meaning I'm talking about. I don't.
As I said - it's subjective.
