If no one else does, eventually I will probably start something. I would
probably set my sights a little lower than an all-encompassing, consistent
universe. Keeping a little town semi-consistent is hard enough :-) Given the
level of LCAD interest in space, there's probably plenty of room for several
separate projects, each with its own story. Or the project leader could just
handle creating the station and pictures of it, and make it available for
others to create their own stories.
I would focus "standards" on making sure parts of a space station "look" more
or less consistent. If I were to start a planetary base, I would require that
all installations have a common tunnel to connect to other sections (like in
the game Outpost). The airlock idea for a space-based station is a great idea
as it will allow a wide variety of spacecraft to look like they belong in the
same solar system.
It would be next to impossible to create a single space complex which would
encompass all the variety of visions LCAD people have for their creations.
I'd be interested both in seeing what a "fantastic" technology space station
might turn out like, and seeing what people would do within more "realistic"
limitations--without feeling like both stations had to be part of a consistent
universe.
Well, enough rambling by me. Time to go fix the minifigs in Datsville.
