Pictures of SMART's robot display at Crossroads

On Saturday SMART put on a terrific robot display at Crossroads Shopping Center! This was a combined Crate Contraption and Great Ball Contraption. There was so much going on that it was hard to take it all in! Trains zipping back and forth, ball (...) (18 years ago, 25-Apr-06, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

Re: SMART display at Crossroads Shopping Center (April 22)

Just a reminder that tomorrow SMART will be putting on a robot display at Crossroads Shopping Center. Setup will be at 10 AM. Everyone should be there by 11 AM so that we can have all the modules put in the display, which should be running, at the (...) (18 years ago, 21-Apr-06, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

SMART display at Crossroads Shopping Center (April 22)

In a week and a half SMART will be putting on a robot display at Crossroads Shopping Center. Everyone is welcome to come take a look, but we're especially interested in having people participate! There's going to be a Great Ball Contraption as part (...) (18 years ago, 12-Apr-06, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

  Re: Programming the RCX

(...) While I've tinkered a tiny bit with alternate firmwares (legOS and the Swan firmware) I almost exclusively use NQC. Considering the types of robots you're likely to build, there really are few situations where you need more power and speed (...) (18 years ago, 12-Apr-06, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

  Programming the RCX

My son and I are new to the group (and to Mindstorms) so I don't know if this has been covered recently... I'd be very interested in learning the pros and cons of different programming options for the RCX. I'm currently using NQC but don't have a (...) (18 years ago, 10-Apr-06, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

Re: March 25, 2006 SMART meeting

Our next meeting is only a week away. I've been working on a couple of ball modules this weekend. I hope to see many more interesting modules at the meeting that others have been working on! Don't forget, 2pm at Digipen next Saturday. BTW: if anyone (...) (18 years ago, 19-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

  Re: SMART T-shirts

(...) Reminder: if you want a SMART t-shirt, get your orders in as soon as possible. I've only received orders for 5 so far, which would make it prohibitively expensive to move ahead. Send an email with your name, and the number and size(s) of (...) (18 years ago, 14-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

  SMART T-shirts

I've been looking for someone to make SMART t-shirts for a while, and I think I've finally found someone. Besides just a cool memento of our club, it would be nice to have a consistent look for our members at shows that we put on, for instance the (...) (18 years ago, 12-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

Crossroads Event on April 22nd, 2006

On April 22nd, SMART will be displaying an integration of the Crate Contraption with as many Great Ball Contraption modules as we can get our hands on! Originally planned for Easter weekend, we've moved the event to April 22nd because a number of (...) (18 years ago, 11-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

  March 25, 2006 SMART meeting

Unbelievably (well at least to me), the next SMART meeting is only two weeks away! As usual we'll be meeting at Digipen, at 2pm on the last Saturday of the month (the 25th in this case). The mini-challenge is to build one or more Great Ball (...) (18 years ago, 11-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

Re: IMPORTANT: Possible SMART Crossroads Event Rescheduling

So far I have only head from Brad, via email, and he says he would be out of town April 15 so for him a later date is better. Does anyone else want to comment on this possible rescheduling? I would really like a little more input on this one way or (...) (18 years ago, 7-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

Re: IMPORTANT: Possible SMART Crossroads Event Rescheduling

Hi Brian, I'm sure we'll take lots of pictures and movies. Here is the hint: (URL) motorized yet and jams if there are too many balls at the bottom. Powered by hand it lifts four or fewer balls at a time very quickly and effortlessly. Gus (18 years ago, 7-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

IMPORTANT: Possible SMART Crossroads Event Rescheduling

Hi Everyone, It turns out that the selected day for the SMART Crossroads event, April 15, is very bad for me. This is a big deal since we are going to be putting up the Crate Contraption/Great Ball Contraption at this event. Not only is it bad for (...) (18 years ago, 7-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

Re: January 28th, 2006 SMART Meeting

I've had four people ask about a wider line, including two that were concerned that if the line wasn't really 3/4" wide, their light sensors wouldn't be able to track the line properly. In fact, the "3/4-inch" tape is just a bit under 3/4", so I'm (...) (18 years ago, 27-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

Re: January 28th, 2006 SMART Meeting

Last reminder about Saturday's meeting (2pm, Digipen; mini-challenge is there-and-back-again drag racing). Has anyone built a GBC (Great Ball Contraption) module that they could bring to the meeting? I'd like to have one or more to demonstrate what (...) (18 years ago, 27-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

Re: January 28th, 2006 SMART Meeting

I thought the ascii-art would be understandable, but I've made a picture with the dimensions and starting configuration for the drag-racing arena that you can find here: (URL) that helps. Don't worry too much about the details. You can even bring (...) (18 years ago, 23-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

Re: January 28th, 2006 SMART Meeting

Hi Ben, Looking forward to hearing about CES. I'm not sure if you got David post before or after you made your post. I just saw your post even though it looks like it was time-stamped a few days ago. Not sure what's going on. Anyway, here is my (...) (18 years ago, 23-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.us.smart)
