I wholeheartedly agree. Seems to me that each team kind of had a slightly
different expectation on what was 'fair-game' going in, which would be
greatly helped by a GM. If someone's building stuff that's too powerful,
they can be toned down, and likewise people who are building stuff that's
too weak can be told to bulk up their troops...

but that requires someone who knows the rules well enough, and is
willing not to play.  Unless we decide to go with the "What I Say Goes"
rule, which basiclly picks someone (not always the same someone, I
think) to resolve conflicts...

Actually, I kinda think it might be fun to try, personally-- you'd get free
reign for creating the "magic items" (in this game), you'd get to control
neutral troops (like the goblins, etc), and other game elements like the
Sword of Agot, team goals, etc.

It would give me a chance to not feel so guilty about lawyering or *not*
lawyering people before and during the games, too, which I always find a
difficult line to walk :)

So, anyway, let's set a date for the exact rematch?  Same game, same
armies, but you can change tactics :)

How about next weekend, the 10th?

I think we're out of luck until... at the earliest in late May? I think
that's what was mentioned somewhere. At some point I think Shaun actually
brought up "June". But that's *got* to be crazy talk.

As for what game to play, I'm rather indifferent. To tell the truth, I feel
like I should be telling Joe & Jonathan all the little tidbits we've been
coming up with strategy-wise so that we can all re-tool our armies a bit. I
mean, if Jonathan couldn't've used his portal-dealy weapons, he'd just be
sitting there kinda bored (as would Shuan). And Shaun's army needs
re-working anyway (since he only had the one magic user and 1 ballista). But
if people really *do* want to play the exact same game again, I have no
problems with that, either... I've a hankering for some vengence!
