Man, you guys sure fight well.....

You have to realize we're not at all fighting.  We've somehow garnered an
incredible ability to trash talk over the last few years.

Yes.  I didi know this.  I should have used the word heckle or something like
it.

As a person whos programmed at every level of the machine, microcode, machine
code, assembly code, high level code, I can tell you that in tight coding
environments, keeping the variables to a minimum sure makes the code easier

Variables in your own code.  The firmware is still handling all those IFs in the
background.

Sorry,  IFs are not worked in the background.  Interrupts happen in the
background.  Instruction execution happens in the foreground :^)  Aren't
computer engineers annoying?

The pile of IFs is also just as unreadable and hard to understand. :)

I had no problem reading it.  Maybe you have to be good at software or
something.... (do you have to be a member to heckle?)

I did this by getting rid of all but 2 of his variables, and adding more code.

You see, given the Chris tactic, he'd say "Well, those 40 variables worked okay
to begin with!"

Ah.... I'm beginning to understand.

work *without* using the RCX.  Using the RCX on every project would make things
too easy and it too much like work.

Well, if you're doing Steve-like games like Sumo, that's workable :)

No sumo, unless it is non-overlapping footprint (that's weight shifting in case
Steve couldn't figure that out) bipedal or pneumatic, or both.

Kevin (would love to be a member of RTL Toronto) Clague

Aren't in in New York?  You should come up!

Thanks for the invite!  Unfortunatly I live in Southern Minnesota, but maybe
Doug Carlson and I will road trip up there sometime!

(...) no, anyone can heckle... BUT you better have some pretty good credentials, and have some standing in the community (of rcx's) that's why we tolerate Ralph. sure he never entered a robot.... heck I've never seen him build anything for that (...)
