If we are using an x-y system, does the bot have to be 'off the board' when
it starts or when it's done, i.e. no part of the bot is hovering over the
grid before or after the event.

If the robot has to start off the board and end off the board, this ruins my
feeble plan. I do have an idea to compinsate for this, but I'd like to know.

I think starting on top of the board is okay.  In our robot, parts of the
robot overhang the board.  I think the only thing I would draw the line at
is attaching stuff to the actual board (ie, 2xN pieces)

If i think I understand what Calum is saying.... then i agree.

if your bot for whatever reason, always starts with the griper over the
top left cell, then so be it.

in my little heart of hearts, the game was over when the last block was
placed. I don't have the code space available to have my RCX sing happy
birthday.... or whatever.

So Greg, continue on with your plan.  heck, send me pics of what you
have, I'd love to see it.
