what about using up their bandwidth?

I don't feel the least bit bad about using peoples bandwidth,
and I would be using more of their bandwidth if I didn't link
directly to the relevant resource.

while true - at least then they get to generate revenue,
or attract to the rest of the site.

If they make the pages with links to the rest of the site,
then that shouldn't be the least bit difficult. And I can't
see how a "cover page" can generate more revenue than a page
inside the site.

If you use pause DB pics in your ebay auction (for
instance), you are abuseing the fact that the pics are up
there.

If you use Pause DB images alone, then you are breaking the
rules: No copyright information and no credits to the host
of the information (this is similar to embedding other
peoples pages in FRAME's).

It is also a case where technical limitations means that the
publisher can't ensure that you get the information he wants
you to get along with the resource, and thus an instance
where the ideas behind the web aren't implemented properly
yet.

So the rules that count for HTML, WML, and other "rich
content" doesn't apply to images.

people should read what you publish, as a complete piece.
Not just a snipplet, or a part of it.  Esp if you don't
give a link to the complete site.

Then you should publish it as a complete piece (this is as I
wrote above not implemented for images, and my advice can
therefore not be applied in a sensible way to images).

I think we at least agree partially:

Direct linking to other peoples images is, currently,
A Bad Thing(tm), and probably even illegal.

Play well,

Jacob
