I mostly drink water and juice (and root beer). I can drink a coke
every so often, but pepsi makes me sick.I don't know why.
My mother was a diet coke drinker/diet food consumer until just a few
years ago when she started to get severe migrine headaches. She kept
going to doctors about the problem but none of them could find anything
wrong. I asked her to stop eating things with aspartame as an
ingredient and they went away. Coincidence? Maybe. I've heard lots of
other similar stories about it.
There's also a story of an 11-year old girl from NJ who did a science
fair project on Diet Coke and found that a significant fraction the
aspartame in the product breaks down into two neurotoxins (formeldahyde
and something else) under warm to hot storage conditions. I shudder
everytime I see these big stacks of soda sitting in the grocery store.
