See below for the URL. Not much in the way of MOC's I'm afraid. I've been
tainted by Lego trains lately. :-)

Loved the castley stuff, despite not being a castlehead myself, and the
comparisons between the carrier and battleship were helpful - thanks.

Beyond religious fervour, why would castleheads not be out there buying
every carrier and battleship in sight?

Religious fervour it is. I wonder how many "MB never" people have actually
tested the bricks out. Lego Bulk didn't really change the cost of bricks,
just made them a bit easier to obtain (for those in the lucky countries).
But if people wish to build large castles (not in primary colours), at this
time there is only one easy solution.

I have worked with Mega Bloks. They don't hold together quite so well as LEGO
bricks. They're not as bad as Best Lock. They also aren't quite as uniform in
color as LEGO bricks (but that may be a plus for castle building). People have
noted that their grey doesn't match LEGO grey, which would mean carefull
planning when mixing with LEGO bricks.

I also don't like the feel of Mega Bloks. They feel like they are made of
polystyrene (like what is used in most plastic model kits) instead of ABS. I
suspect that the greater "hardness" of polystyrene relative to ABS is one
factor in the bricks having a lower grip strength. Judging from what I have
found in some used brick lots, Mega Bloks also show more wear. I have seen very
noticeable wear on the edges whereas old LEGO bricks just tend to be somewhat
dull but still generally have crisp edges (unless they've been used as a
substitute for a teething ring...).

I've actually got so many grey LEGO bricks now, I'm not sure what to do with
them all (no, I'm not going to give them away...). They've actually been
finding their way into my overflow storage (silly me did buy some bulk packs,
plus, early in my LEGO buying, I bought some grey brick lots on eBay. Cheap
6097s are one of the sources.
