Bid siphoning is when someone is running an auction, and someone else
offers to sell the same item for less than the current high bid.
By extension, bid siphoning can also include providing information on
alternate sources for the item.
Some people perform bid siphoning to benefit themselves, which can weaken
legitimate auctions. Some people are willing to perform bid siphoning to
benefit the suckers who are being taken by evil sellers.
