  Re: Brickbay problems........again

(...) I wonder if that kind of increase would actually matter, though. Sure, it would be a 50% increase in incoming fees, and it might make a difference in the amount of money Dan brings in (I would have paid about $128 this year so far instead of (...)   Re: Brickbay problems........again

(...) Although if the actual problem is related more to the incompetence of the staff at the current company, moving may help. Kinda odd to think that things went so well for so long and then turned bad, but who knows - they might have had numerous (...) (23 years ago, 19-May-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

  Re: Brickbay problems........again

(...) Hi Brickbay Fans :-) I have played with the numbers as well, as far I know has Dan so far had a revenue since the opening medio June 2000 of approximately USD 450-500,000 - that gives him only a profit of USD 9-10.000 since the beginning. Thanks for this analysis... now for some nitpicking, mostly around word usage (...) It is probably more accurate to say that the site has had a *turnover* of 500,000 USD, the gross amount that sellers have received for sale of their 1.3M parts (or (...)   Re: Brickbay problems........again

(...) I'm pretty much the same way, although I'd kick in as a buyer, I'd rather that sellers were carrying the extra weight. As a seller I'd happily go 3% - in fact I would have been willing to do 3% from day 1. James (23 years ago, 19-May-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

  Re: Brickbay problems........again

(...) Yes, sellers should either carry ALL, or at least the large part, of any increase. They can in turn raise prices. I had a nice father send me a note, he wanted some garage doors for his son, (but couldn't place an order because Brickbay was (...) (23 years ago, 19-May-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

(...) Hi Larry, Sorry about the mix-up in the words (I'm from Denmark), what I meant with the numbers was exactly how you described it - the assumed USD 500,000 is what I mean there has been sold parts for - the amount is calculted as current orders (...)   Re: Brickbay problems........again

I just have 2 cents to add to the discussion. Cent 1 would be to charge a store opening fee in the neighborhood of $25. There has been aprox 120 new open & active stores since November of 2000 at which times there was only 110 open & active stores (...) (23 years ago, 19-May-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

  Re: Brickbay problems........again

(...) While I certainly value a good venue, a $25 startup fee would almost certainly mean I'd never start a Brickbay store. I'm not sure how much volume I'll do, though I do need to start a store and start moving some of my stuff, but a startup fee (...) (23 years ago, 20-May-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Hi all ! Regarding 1st cent - shop oppening fee, I do agree with Brett and I'd pay around 25 $ anytime, but yes - it would retract new sellers. Therefore my proposal is to charge all the shops with 5-10 feedbacks and more! I don't think shop owners (...) (23 years ago, 20-May-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Thoughts on Brickbay fees (Re: Brickbay problems........again)

This thread is a month old, but I've had a few thoughts on the subject and believe its a good time to toss them up for discussion. I will start off by saying that the current fee of 2% of sales is a legitimate and valid fee and should not be (...) (23 years ago, 30-Jun-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: Thoughts on Brickbay fees (Re: Brickbay problems........again)
