Interesting article in today's newspaper:

The parent in this online comment has an interesting comments on integrating
Bionicle with traditional LEGO bricks.

He's not saying there's anything wrong with Bionicle as such, just that he
and his son can't seem to get them to play nice with the other bricks.  :)

Wow! I guess he hasn't been trying very hard, as a 3 long friction peg solves
most of this 'problem'. There are so many solutions to this one, it's mind-
boggling. Even 1x2 and 1x3 plates are a viable solution depending on what you
want the parts to do.

Makes me wonder if the LEGO world isn't heading in two dissimilar directions:

1)  Traditional bricks
2)  Specialized pieces for very specific themes

I'll agree to a point. Certain parts have a single use. Too bad none of those
parts can be pointed out in the Bionicle line. Mindstorms, however, is a whole
new beastie. Has anyone figured out anything that can be done with the R2-D2
head parts from the DDK? I know that I haven't, and I'm pretty good at finding
uses for 'useless' parts.

And that maybe someday these might even be considered two separate product
lines.

True. Other Examples: Belleville, Lego Racers, Creator, anything including
'Timmy'.

Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?

Signed,
Allan B.

Trying to take over the world,
-Dave
