Re: NMRA show (the first of many?)

(...) No such thing - I consistently moved sets to the inside edges of the modules, and if the kids couldn't climb on each other, they'd have their parents lift them up to get it. I have no problem with kids PLAYING with the Lego. It's the (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

John Gerlach says: (...) <snip> (...) I have to agree with this. I don't like the idea of plexiglas. After all, they are LEGO toys!   NMRA 2000 Successful

Well, the show was both stressful and successful. Many positive comments and it looks like we have a good amount of momentum to go on. We even came across a Lego Train Fan who knew nothing of Lugnet or BayLUG, but had been building Lego Train MOCs (...)   Re: NMRA show (the first of many?)

(...) When the GMLTC displayed at the 1999 NMRA show in St. Paul, we received nothing but support from the "real" model railroaders. They would ask questions, make comments, point out mistakes (yea, we're not perfect!), and seemed genuinely (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

Re: NMRA show (the first of many?)

While I could only be there on Thursday, before the show actually opened, I knew just from the comments I heard from other contributors that it was going to be a hit. I am available to help on the Hayward show and can commit (or be committed). I (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

  Re: BayLUG/BayLTC next meeting? (discussion)

I think a september meeting is a fine idea, as well as something in between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I am available the weekends of the 9th & 10th and the 23rd and 24th. If these dont work out for others, I can change my schedule as long as we do (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

Re: NMRA show (the first of many?)

Another "future" point that Mike & I talked about: a "drive-in" featuring a laptop showing a looping presentation of LUGNET train MOCs. This file could easily be created as a Powerpoint "pack & go" executable - it could even run on my Jornada 820, (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf, lugnet.trains.org)

  Re: BayLUG/BayLTC next meeting? (discussion)

I think we should build on the NMRA momentum and have a September meeting. We should have at least one train layout going, plus as much other really impressive stuff as can be brought. We should cross-post the date to the Bay Area (or general) model (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

NMRA show (the first of many?)

Well, the NMRA show is now behind us. Kudoes to GMLTC and PNLTC who paved the way for LEGO Train Clubs (even if they have set the bar *very high* for those that folllow them.;-). Many 'regulars' from the NMRA circuit remembered them, and commented (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

  BayLUG/BayLTC next meeting? (discussion)

We haven't picked a date, and we probably should. What dates are good/bad for everyone? September would fit into the "quarterly" schedule, leaving us to try to have a winter meeting between Thanksgiving and Christmas. We had two meetings last year, (...)   NMRA update (Sat. pm)

(...) These are the ones we have to keep eagle eyes out for Sat/Sun, or we'll be rebuilding a LOT of displays.
