I thought of something else that really bugs me about this color change.
Harry Potter sets!!
Why? Because so far almost all the HP sets have been designed to work together.
Look at the poster that comes in the sets - on the back it shows a ‘super
construction’ with many of the sets combined.
Pretty darn cool idea, I think.
But, what happens when the next batch of HP sets comes out, and kids try to add
the new sets to their super-construction? The colors won’t match! Kids will be
disappointed, parents will be surprised. I wonder if the new poster will show
the sets matching in color, or if it will show how out-of-place the new colors
are against the colors in the existing sets.
And, so far, a large portion of the pieces in the HP sets have been grey or dark
grey... I can only guess that the future HP sets will have a large portion of
their pieces as blue-grey or dark blue-grey. Grrr....
