So, what you saying is that I will never be able to get my 7740 (pout)? I better

I'll go even further than saying the probelm is caused by the lack of bulk

I dunno.

Call me crazy, but I think the prices on things like the Metroliner would
go ***UP*** (not down) if LEGO made more "good sets."  The more "good
sets" there are in a theme, the more people want to collect that theme.
The more people want to collect a theme, the higher the prices go.

It's the same thing with Forestmen versus Dark Forest...  When Dark Forest
came out, people were saying, "Ah, this'll be great for people who want to
buy old Forestmen sets -- because many people will be happy with Dark
Forest instead."  But look what happened -- people saw how cool Dark
Forest was, and then they saw that Forestmen was as good or better -- and
prices on Forestmen sets didn't drop (maybe even went up, as might be
expected).  Once you're Dark Forest-complete, the next thing you want to
be is Forestmen-complete.

My $.02  :)

Unless of course Lego rereleases it due to popular demand from lugnet ... :) You realise of course that your mentioning the set made me go and look it up on lugnet. Which made me think 'wow - that is a cool set - I want it'. Which will of course (...) (26 years ago, 26-Mar-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.debate)
