A thought about some CW issues that may emanate. —Dylan Reardon
I was looking at the Castle World website - catching up, if you will - and I came up with an idea, which isn't at all refined; just an idea... Possible Problem(s): One could assume that with all the stories, worlds, realms, dungeons, waterfalls, (...) (24 years ago, 12-Sep-00, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)

Re: A thought about some CW issues that may emanate. —Pawel Nazarewicz
(...) Craig and I were talking about this a long time ago, and we figured out that every Realm will have its own set of rules. If Craig wants wizards to fly in his Realm, and I don't in mine, when his wizards enter my realm and I don't want them to (...) (24 years ago, 12-Sep-00, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)

Re: A thought about some CW issues that may emanate. —Doug Dropeskey
I'm just musing around here, having not read everything for castle world, so pardon me if I make some obvious error... As Pawel states in his reply, each domain belongs to a particular person who may exercise complete control over that domain. From (...) (24 years ago, 25-Sep-00, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)

   (...) Musing is fun:) (...) Agreed ... (...) We gave this some thought, and this is what we came up with this grid system: X O X C X O X P X F X O X S X C - Craig's Realm P - Pawel's Realm F - Frank's Realm S - Shiri's Realm X - Neutral Zone The (...)      (...) "Frank"?... Are you possibly referring to Frank Filz?... ;-) Franklin (that's _eight_ letters, and _two_ syllables!) (24 years ago, 25-Sep-00, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)

(...) At the time of me writing this, I had an e-mail correspondence with Frank Filz, so yeah :) (...) Don't worry - we know:) -- Pawel (24 years ago, 25-Sep-00, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)

(...) Most definitely - no one can decide for you... (...) Yeah... and then (more musings, using the same notation, with O as unclaimed realms), if for example you have (a bit more complex arrangement): X1 C X2 O C X3 C X4 X5 C X6 S O X7 S X8 So (...)      (...) [snip] Hello, I was wondering how do you travel between realms? is CW a planet that has tons of contenents with each realm on part of a contennt, where chars can walk or ride or swim or travel by boat to the other realms? What if Each realm (...) (24 years ago, 26-Sep-00, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)

(...) Castle World is one world with many realms/domains/kingdoms. It's a shared world with no real central force or rules(for magic or disputes). It was pretty much made to facilitate the telling of stories. When you join Castle World, you are just (...) (24 years ago, 26-Sep-00, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)

Re: CW Questions (Was: A thought about some CW issues that may emanate.) —Rick Kurtzuba
(...) My question is, why must Castle World have any set map? If I want to have a lake, a mountain, and a forest in my realm, am I going to be prevented from doing so because my particular grid squares don't contain those environments? It seems to (...)         Re: CW Questions (Was: A thought about some CW issues that may emanate.) —Shiri Dori
(...) Dear, dear, no, no way! *You* decide what goes in your part of the "map". Look, I don't know it all, nor do I presure to. The map issues are not entirely resolved. What I know comes from little tidbits of info Craigo has told me. And I know (...) (24 years ago, 30-Sep-00, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)

Re: CW Questions (Was: A thought about some CW issues that may emanate.) —Rick Kurtzuba
(...) See, that's what I thought. In fact, I kind of took that for granted until I heard some of the talk about the map, which made me wonder. (I'm coming to this kind of late.) Anyway, the folks running Castle World have made it pretty clear that (...) (24 years ago, 30-Sep-00, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)

Re: CW Questions (Was: A thought about some CW issues that may emanate.) —Ken Dowd
(...) CW is a wonderful idea but the map seems to raise an awful lot of issues. It seems to me that a "Magic: the Gathering" approach would be easier to implement and cause less confusion. The Magic card game is built around many worlds (planes) (...) (24 years ago, 30-Sep-00, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)

Re: CW Questions (Was: A thought about some CW issues that may emanate.) —Matt Brooks
(...) Being a long-time Magic afficionado, this is the most appealing aspect of realm placement to me. It's not very confusing, unless you want it to be, nor is it too terribly difficult to understand. This also allows (to address a subsequent point (...)      (...) Ah! Yes! This is exactly what I think Castle World should do, too! (Although I'm hardly an isolationist; I sure hope that's not the impression I gave. I want to interact with other balladeers as much as anybody!) It seems to me that this way, (...) (24 years ago, 3-Oct-00, to lugnet.castle.org.cw)
