There's also a very cool quasi-armor piece from the UFO space line, kind of
like football pads, but wicked looking. I found these after buying a UFO
clearance set from Zany Brainy for the big saucer sections (making a
rotunda). After some careful modification because there's a tab on the back
that gets in the way, I was able to use it along with a cape and a helmet
for one of my bad guys:

I just love the look of this little guy, and he now has the prime real
estate at the top my computer monitor. After I did this, I remember seeing
this same piece used by someone else in a castle MOC, but for the life of me
I can't remember who. I am sure whoever he or she is discovered this piece
before I did, since the Zany Brainy sale was only about 3 months ago. Well,
that put a damper on my ego (for a while I was cackling to myself about what
a super-evil-Wile.E.-genius I was). If anyone knows the MOC I'm talking
about and can point me to a URL, please let me know so I can steal some
other good ideas.

| (...) After looking through the UFO stuff, the only cheap little set I could find this in was 2847. Anyone know if this is still available lurking on some forgotten shelf? Any other sets that contain it? Bruce (24 years ago, 11-Aug-00, to lugnet.castle)

First that comes to mind is Dave E with his CW sig-fig... but I recall many posts exclaiming the awesome cool-ness (...) (24 years ago, 24-Nov-00, to lugnet.castle)
