Yes it true .... You'll need: L3P and Povray (L3P is an example there are others as well, but I realy like this one since it's easy to use ...) Make sure they are installed properly then start MLCad. I am getting the feeling that separate programs are needed to generate POV or Raytraced pictures of models created in MLCAD, is this true? I noticed two annoying bugs in the non-bugfixed version when i was working on a model yesterday: 1. when on edit mode, if you click on the 3d-view and rotate it, the viewpoint resets to 0,0 at center as soon as you release the mouse button. this (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jun-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

ok, i've found a few bugs myself, and i have a few suggestions: closing the picture generator window, once a large picture has been loaded, or sometimes just loading a large picture, yields a page fault: MLCAD caused an invalid page fault in module (...) (...) I can't find your known errors page but here's a couple: The Help on V1.9 doesn't work. If MLCAD can't find a particular file more than once it asks for everyone occurance - maybe you can create a 'Don't ask me about this file again' (...) (...) I'm sorry Michael, My problem was that I was confused about what mode I was in. It appears that you can only rotate the 3D model in Place mode, and not in View mode. When I run MLCAD, it comes up in view mode, and then I have to switch to (...) (24 years ago, 9-May-00, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.mlcad)

I had this thought about MLcad: What about having different settings (not settings in the menu) for view-mode and construct-mode (place/move/size)? Since you are waiting already, I will report a bug. When I try to rotate a model in the 3D view using the mouse, it fails when the model is complex. It pauses for a little while, then just returns to normal mode. It never goes into wireframe mode. (...) (24 years ago, 9-May-00, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.mlcad)

(...) This is the right behavior (at least until now) if you select absolute rotation angles. In this case MLCad ignores all view angles and uses the specified one instead. I'm sorry, but I have found just another bug as it seems: I was trying to to fix the singular matrix error in the minifig torso subpart and had figured it had to do with som missing number in the rotation matrix. (...) When I tried to use a rotation step (first time), all 4 windows showed the rotated model in view mode, leaving me slightly puzzled. I don't know if that's the way it's intended to be. I haven't had much time to use your program since the last release, but rendering speed seams to have dramatically increased. And that's really nice. Thank you very much, I really like the 3 steps of export. This allows for L3P Post processing before going into POV. When you add DLL plugin support, perhaps programmers can add sub model generators, like minifig editors or hose generators. Thanks (...) (24 years ago, 5-May-00, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.mlcad)

Something I am trying to do, to help in inventorying is adding some meta information to the parts DB - like type (which we already have), and some size info (fits in 4x4, 1x8, etc) - that way, if you know how big it is, you (...) I can't seem to figure out how the "enter rotation" option works when you right click on a part. I'll enter a value in and sometimes the rotation makes sense, and other times I can't figure out why its doing whats its doing. For instance I'll rotate (...) I've closed implementation phase for V1.9 of MLCad now, in arround a week I hope that I'm ready to release it. The new version will rotate the grid with part, means no wrong step sizes anymore :-) It will have a switch which allows to toggle the (...) (24 years ago, 30-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad.mlcad)

Sure, I know. But that is what I use now. What I would like is a tool that can directly export Illustrator format or postscript, for that matter, from LDraw in 3D! Thus my story on MLCad (I hope ML reads this) that is allready printing in vector or (...) (24 years ago, 14-Apr-00, to lugnet.cad.dev, lugnet.cad.mlcad)
