It would be great if fans decided to overhaul all of the lugnet forums to a new
format.
(The current forum should be saved somewhere as an archive of past fan
activity.)
The PHPbb forum format seems to be the most widely used type across the spectrum
of fan sites.
A new lugnet forum should retain several key features of this site:
1. Real Names - A fan has to take recognition for their posts and not hide
behind a screen name.
2. Limited use of images - The lack of avatars, emoticons, and image signatures
keep the focus on intelligent AFOL discussion.
3. Age requirements - AFOLs need a forum for intelligent conversation without
being overwhelmed with posts from 13 year old fan boys.
All three of these points could be ignored, but then this site would be
EuroBricks.
On the other hand, EB likely would create subforum for ldraw if you asked.
