Well, the DOS executable in the part update from ldraw.org won't work, but you should be able to use either the point-N-click version or the OSX command line executable that are included in the ldglite bundle. (...) True, but they won't appear in the part lookup list until you run mklist. So don't forget those part numbers or you'll never find them again. Is there a procedure for adding part updates to the parts library on a Mac? Has anyone figured out a way to automate it? I've noticed that the updates have folders within folders.
