Wow! This thing is incredible. This program doesn't just turn a bunch of subparts, it actually creates the axle out of triangles. The output is beautiful! It was missing the edgelines, though. Any chance you could add support for electric wires? (...) (24 years ago, 21-Nov-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

This is a proposal for a new meta-statement/header line for parts files. I'm hanging this off the pattern-id discussion, because it relates to patterned parts. The basic idea is this: right now, there are three ways to see if there is a relation (...) (24 years ago, 21-Nov-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Forward: I'd rather stick with using P as the patterned-element designator. Add letters to the suffix, to allow up to 1296 patterns per part. Rather than the suggestion of using alpha characters, in the "pattern number", have we considered allowing other characters in the sixth position - so we allow nnnnnp00-nnnnnp99 nnnnnq00-nnnnnq99, nnnnnr00-nnnnnr99, etc as valid patterned part (...) I'm a bit new to this myself, so someone correct me if I'm wrong. I recommend using MLCAD (on Windows) to actually edit the LEGO models. This is a very good editor, but it only has rudimentary display capabilities. Then, get L3P to convert the MLCAD (...) (24 years ago, 19-Nov-00, to lugnet.cad, lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) Yes, I did use your spring2dat program. Excellent job! I was able to adjust and re-create a spring to fit in seconds! Only one change you need to make, The Description and Author lines get thier data swapped. No biggie, it's easy to adjust (...) (24 years ago, 18-Nov-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

(...) Got it! the line was not there. I have played with this quite a bit, so I'll try to explain what it did. L3lab was set to the default viewer, when I open the part to edit, L3lab also starts and changes the part view as changes are made. :D The (...) (24 years ago, 18-Nov-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

Paul, Just for grins, try the following to manually set the Editor's viewing option. 1. Edit ldraw.ini 2. Locate the section [LDAO Editor]. If that line doesn't exist, add it. 3. In the [LDAO Editor] section, look for a line like: ShowViewWindow=2 (...) (24 years ago, 17-Nov-00, to lugnet.cad.dev)

A few things to note. First off, I added command line support relatively late in my LDView development. Sorry about the delay. The feature isn't working. It looks fine in some parts, but if you look at the tire in particular, some parts of the lines become dashed.
