(...) Just one light? Try using three...all from different directions, and none pointing in exactly the same direction as the camera. The funny thing is I'm not using a flash and I'm using a "painter's light" essentially halogen with a white diffuser to simulate sunlight, it just doesn't work with black lego in this case (perhaps vertical plates are more shiny than bricks). Good looking mecha! I like the red fins. Although others don't agree I like the clear window cockpit (not being a big cockpit fan anyway cause all my stuff is too small for 'em). I have a question about the colors for the ball and socket joints. do they make grey (light or dark) sockets and or balls. very cool, man i WAS werkin on a green and grey mecha, alas, i suck at it, so its on hold for now.... the carrier is very hip, i like the fact that it is dedicated to only one mecha, presumably expending its own fuel in mecha delivery, so the mech (...) (...) I have taken pictures of black models in poor lighting conditions, and still had pictures with plenty of detail: (URL) the red still looks fine! Great model Joel! I love the feet! Suggestions: Anime mecha don't usually have transparent windscreens. Also, they usually have small heads (althought my Tortoise sorta proved that wrong). Dave these Mechs are amazing! I must say I was'nt familair with your work untill the Mecha Hall of Fame appeared on Brickshelf. Mark, let me be one of the first to congratulate you on what is to my knowledge one of if not the first successful incorporation of Drop Ship and Mecha combined! John! Wow, it's been a while since I heard from you. Glad you like the mecha. Have you seen my "Azriel" (URL) It's my best bipedal mecha yet. Sets for mecha? Hmmm... wow.. Im impressed. That has got to be your best model, period. Im not sure ive ever seen a mecha of that size that is so incredibly detailed and yet still functional(i assume) hmmm.. i think ive returned some what to, at least the mecha forum. (...) Daaaang Mark! That is freaking awesome! The poses of the Mecha were great! A few questions: How are the 'wings' of the mecha attached? How is the mecha attached to the ship?
