Thanks Dave! Yes, those are wheels!

That idea is really quite old, I saw it first on VOTOMS mecha (never seen the
anime, only pics off the 'net).

What I was getting at is that I've never seen this ised on a Lego mech. It seems
like such an obvious thing, but I've been oblivious to it until now.

(...) ;-) (...) Thanks Dave! Yes, those are wheels! They actually prevent the legs from sliding to the sides, but their "real" purpose is to help the mecha navigate through tight urban areas. I also imagine they would increase the land speed too, (...) (23 years ago, 19-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha)
