Ok. What you are saying is that two types of posts belong in .shopping:
1) posts by individuals about sales they have discovered
2) advertisements by companies that sell Lego
Ultimately, I don't care at all about #2. However, #1 is so important to me
that I subscribe to it by email, so I always know about new sales, as referred
by other AFOLs.
All I am asking is to put #1 type posts in a different newsgroup than #2 type
posts. Then I can only get the ones I am interested in. Isn't that the points
of having multiple newsgroups on Lugnet? I don't care if #2 stays in .shopping
and #1 get a new newsgroup, or if #1 stays in shopping and #2 is banished to
buy-sell-trade. :-) [1]

If every retailer and individual with a Vault-like site did it, then we would
be spammed daily. [2] [3]

I agree. These are posts of type #1 above. They shouldn't be mixed with type
#2 posts, though.

A person who finds something at a non-chain, like say a garage sale, is
announcing more of a FOTW than a sale. FOTWs are perhaps type #3 of posts. I
actually don't mind getting these mixed in with type #1. They help me remember
that "it's out there, somewhere..."

[1] :-) This is just a hobby. All in fun.
[2] Sorry for using The Vault again as an example. I don't mean anything
against that particular site. The Nugator site did the same thing a few dayts
ago, and someone else asked them to move to .buy-sell-trade.
[3] I consider it spam since I don't want it, but it ends up in my inbox
anyway. I know I could unsubscribe, but then I would get the type #1 posts.
