Dave,

Don't and not cancel each other out so what you get is "I'm strongly
advocating for you to *be( stopped as well as posting this in public either."

Sticking to issues not people, I find this attitude from an admin pretty
disturbing.  Are we required to constrain our opinions so they match those of
the admins?  I've no problem restricting my vocabulary for the sake of the
forum, but I am strongly opposed to taking away people's right to speak their
mind (as long as they stay within the restricted vocabulary).

How many times have the terms of service changed in the last five years?

I believe that admins should administer in a way that does not drive
reasonable people from the forum.  I also believe that we the crowd should react
in relatively level ways.  If that does not work, and we get too vocal, I don't
think it is OK even to threaten to take our ability to post away.

There are indeed two issues here.  The rules themselves, how they are
administered, and respected.

I normally stick to CAD, technic and robotics.  In CAD we've been trying to
get ahold of *all* the authors of parts in the LDraw part library.  We've been
having a difficult time getting ahold os some people.  When one did show up
trying to do what we asked, an admin jumped all over him about his email
address.  In my opinion the admin overreacted and ran the chance of driving this
person away.

For all admins, it is a matter of style that makes them pallatable or not.  I
think some of the admins are really worked up right now and it really shows,
which is unhealthy for lugnet.  I found the style of administration in that case
to be a detriment to the well being of lugnet.  Maybe we should all just take
our chairs, pick a corner and give ourselves a bit of a timeout.

With respect for all,
Kevin

As a sign of respect I would ask that all feedback for spelling mistakes be
withheld.
