Hello LEGO® train fans! The ILTCO is pleased to announce some exciting news, as part of our growing partnership with The LEGO Company. LEGO has supplied the ILTCO with detailed photos of the new 10028 Level Crossing. The ILTCO is pleased to be able (...)      (...) Wow, there's got to be maybe eight usable elements in that set... I'll wait to find it on clearance at 75% off. JohnG, GMLTC (21 years ago, 30-May-03, to lugnet.trains)

At least it looks better than the World City train station and crane sets... My wife asked me if there were any new sets that I would like for my birthday. So I took another good at the new train station and crane set. I came to the conclusion that (...) (21 years ago, 30-May-03, to lugnet.trains)

(...) I just opened my new 4512 Cargo Train and found a flyer with the Train Level Crossing. It is 325 pieces @ $49.99. Shucks, I was hoping somewhere around $30 also. I know what I'll be doing this evening:-) Bert Waters (21 years ago, 30-May-03, to lugnet.trains)

(...) Awww....crap. LEGO, if you are listening, please lower the price! I'm not quite so enthusiastic about this set anymore... :-( Admiral Wells T-SEC / THDC Division (21 years ago, 31-May-03, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.dear-lego, FTX)

(...) I'm not normally one for 'me too' posts, though I'll make an exception in this case. I definately think this would be a great $30 set but would only be fair as a $50 set. (21 years ago, 31-May-03, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.dear-lego)

Hmm, I count quite a few more: - 4 stairs - 4 extreme low slopes - 3 inverse slope windows - trans smoke windshield - 9 each red and white cylinders - 16 technic pins to connect cylinders - decent looking crossing signs (though it would be (...)      (...) Hear hear! (...) Ditto. Now first and foremost: I am not a LEGO train fan and I don't own a single train set. But this set has might change that. Granted, I won't use it for trains, but there are tons of great town and (more importantly to me) (...) (21 years ago, 30-May-03, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.space, FTX)

After looking at the pictures, I can say that I wont be buying one, mainly because there isnt anything in it that I have a use for (except mabie some of the printed computer parts) As to why it is what it is: 1.Limits on just what pieces Lego Direct (...)          Re: 10028 Level Crossing Sneak Peek! —Bryan Kinkel
What makes you conclude the target markets for the Train Shed and the new level crossing are different? Is it the style of the sets? The parts selected? To me it looks like Lego Direct is trying to produce an affordable Train accessory set. Bryan (...) (21 years ago, 30-May-03, to lugnet.trains)

Re: 10028 Level Crossing Sneak Peek! —Steve Barile
(...) The style of the crossing is clearly that of the "World City" line, where as the style of the Engine shed isn't. In recent years it seems that there are two train line stylings; the normal product line (NPL) and LEGO Direct (LD) line. The NPL (...) (21 years ago, 30-May-03, to lugnet.trains)

(...) I'd say the new freight train is somewhere in between, the design is pretty good, a lot of the European Mak-style diesels are quite similair. (21 years ago, 30-May-03, to lugnet.trains)

Re: 10028 Level Crossing Sneak Peek! —Adrian Drake
(...) I don't know about the design of the set itself, but I LOVE the new computer tiles. I hope those show up in more places, and cheaply too.    (...) Actually LEGO has offered at least one 4-wide train and that was in 1965, prior to the introduction of the track: set 323. The 1966 trainset 111 (with track) has already 6-wide plates, but the engine is 2-wide with a 4-wide cab ;-) Niels (21 years ago, 3-Jun-03, to lugnet.trains)
