hmm. When I was waiting to get my 8448 via mail order, I called TLC and
explained that I had bought one and I knew that this part _could_ be a
problem. I asked for the parts in the event that I did need them... they
supplied them no problem. When the set arrived the manufacture date was
11/99 so there was no problem anyway.

I suppose it all depends on who you get at the other end of the line.

Extremely so. I had to sent away the parts before they'd replace them.
