Hello Devin,

Well, I shall be sorry to see you go if you really must, but I hope you will reconsider. You’ve offered me encouragement on more than one occasion and I appreciate that. I know I never replyed to your response to my bots, but I did appreciate it. I don’t manage to post anywhere near as often as I’d like. I do believe that one gets out of this what one puts in. So, I encourage you (and others) to make this forum the best it can be.

How? Highlight work you admire. Join the discussion when you have something to add. Show maturity to the immature by example. Reread posts before sending them. Be gracious. Add value wherever possible. Your values may vary, but if you are true to yours I welcome you here.

I look for humour, information, praise and encouragement, constructive criticism, smack talk, design tips and cool MOCs in the posts I read (not neccessarily in that order) so I strive to bring the same when I post.

Who here has not posted in haste and regretted something they had said? I know I have and I’ve been tempted to join the fray on other occasions and thankfully didn’t. I’ve been disappointed by some things I’ve read too, but I choose to let people be people.

This is a community and as such it will have its disagreements, but we learn and grow together when we solve them.

There have been so many good things here in the past few weeks. Let the bickering rage in one corner while you check out what else is happening.

In addition to too many cool MOCs to shake a stick at, there’s this thread, started by Lenny Hoffman, a builder I admire, which is the kind of design forum .space can be when it’s at its best. There is great wisdom here in .space and elsewhere on Lugnet, which is shared freely. Let’s be thankful for that.

Take some time off if you must. Let your skin thicken. Build something. But, do come back and blay on some more.

Peace and perspective,

Professor Whateverly

I really don't know what to say. I'm honored by what you say Mr. Ward, and that you said it. As you can see, I hold you in the very highest respect, the level reserved for people who save old ladies and blind people from walking into rush hour (...) (20 years ago, 16-Dec-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

I can't take it anymore! I have noticed a stream of immaturity and bickering that has gone too far. First, there are the SciBrick incidents. I can't understand what is going on here. The members involved were some of the most highly respected AFOL's (...) (20 years ago, 15-Dec-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)
