Hi Kevin, what you might want to consider is categorisation by role... after all, a subtheme/faction is typically designed with a particular role (or at least a primary role) in mind.
  • Military
  • Police
  • Emergency services
  • Exploration
  • Other commercial (Space paparazzi, space transport) this could be split as necessary
  • Pirates/mercenaries/bounty-hunters
  • Evildoers (what do they do specifically, anyway???)
  • Miscellaneous recreational (RastaSTARians, Space hippies)
  • General social structures (Sea Monkeys, Iron Reich)
I’m sure it will still be difficult to categorise some subthemes, but I think it’d work better than by moral alignment. This way you could also allow a subtheme to exist in more than one category, e.g. PCS could be both military and exploration.

Anywa, I just look forward to some arrangement that groups them together in a useful way, as opposed to a single humungous list...

Cheers,
