    Light attack carrier —Paul Baulch
This is another older MOC which underwent a major remodelling last year, primarily to improve interior detail. It stemmed originally from a pile of discounted [LEGOSet 6441] which inspired a crazy plan to buy 20 of them and build a fleet of fighters (...)         Re: Light attack carrier —George Haberberger
(...) Paul, This is really great,it's nice to see a carrier with more than 4 fighters. I like the Command and Control room, with the monitors and such, the torpedo room is a great idea I want to appropriate, and the big steering wheel is a cute (...)          Re: Light attack carrier —Paul Baulch
(...) Thanks, I was pretty happy with the submarine-y look the wheels gave to the doors. It'd be nice to do the same thing to the torpedo-tube doors, perhaps if the tubes were 4x4 this could be done well. (...) Yeah, I was sort of hazy on this. I (...)         Re: Light attack carrier —Mark Sandlin
(...) the bow area. I think I prefer the sleeker look of the original, and the way the antennae tuck into the fuselage. The landing gear are excellent. I can't wait to see your mock up of how you did it. I'm not very good with technic landing gear (...) (21 years ago, 30-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Light attack carrier —Paul Baulch
(...) Well, a problem with the older version was that the antennae didn't furl all the way flush with the rest of the ship (they're farthest back in the pic), and this bugged me. That, and it just wasn't detailed enough inside or outside. And the (...) (21 years ago, 1-Jul-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Light attack carrier —Geordan Hankinson
Great work Paul! I like the new nose alot, it gives it a heavier feel than before and there's alot more detail on this version too. The four thrusters on each side are very cool. My favourite are the torpedo hatches though. The interior detail is (...) (21 years ago, 30-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Light attack carrier —Paul Baulch
(...) Thanks, I was very happy to use the inverse dome like that for the nose. It went really well as the housing for the wormhole generator too. (...) I thought it was the submarine doors... but yeah, the grille tiles seemed to work too. Not to (...) (21 years ago, 1-Jul-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Light attack carrier —Jonathan Mizner
(...) At last!!! And even more incredible than before! The bow design, the torpedo tubes, the greeblies, the fighters, the engines, the gear...absolutely incredible. Just incredible. Absolutely, positively, incredible. Perfectly done. (21 years ago, 30-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Light attack carrier —Paul Baulch
(...) Thanks Jonathan! I'll post pictures of the landing gear design in a few days. Cheers, (URL) Sci-Fi LEGO> (21 years ago, 1-Jul-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Light attack carrier —Trevor Pruden
(...) Jumpin' Gehosiphat! This rendition rocks! :D Love the missle tubes, think there should be more crew quarter space (Although there probably is and we just can't see it with the limited pics). The landing gear is very good...very clean lines (...) (21 years ago, 30-Jun-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Light attack carrier —Paul Baulch
(...) Thanks Trevor, actually I did consider having more than four bunks, but given that there's no easy way for the fighter pilots to transfer from their fighters to the main craft, I just figured that the ship wouldn't deploy for long enough for (...)         Re: Light attack carrier —Richie Dulin
(...) It's a very impressive (and innovative) ship, carrying an entirely satisfactory number of fighters (though I can't imagine life would be much fun for the fighter pilots!). To my eye, the new design isn't as good as the old one. The new nose (...) (21 years ago, 1-Jul-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Light attack carrier —Paul Baulch
(...) Thanks Richie, you're right about the pilots, I think I'll put something in the builder's notes. (...) Fair enough, but I prefer it to the old one, which I felt looked too fat and round. It was also a lot more boring-looking both inside and (...) (21 years ago, 1-Jul-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Light attack carrier —Sylvia Tresto
(...) snipped (...) Hi Paul! It looks very nice. I had discovered the older model and think this is a nice improvement. Looking forward to pics of the fighters! Love, Sylvi (21 years ago, 1-Jul-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Light attack carrier —Paul Baulch
(...) Thanks Sylvi! I think that the fighters will get their own page, because I've actually made a few very different variations of that basic fighter design. Cheers, (URL) Sci-Fi LEGO> (21 years ago, 1-Jul-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Light attack carrier —Allister McLaren
(...) Crazy? Crazy like a fox. I hadn't seen this one before, other than that one photo that was posted a few weeks ago, so I won't compare it. All I know is this is a superb model. Who cares if the fighter pilots are trapped in their cockpits, the (...) (21 years ago, 2-Jul-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Light attack carrier —Paul Baulch
(...) Well, to be honest I see atmospheric landing as something not usually done by a craft like this - and if it did, it wouldn't be bringing the fighter module with it. I mean, the whole craft is most un-aerodynamic. (...) Uhh, yeah. Sometime (...) (21 years ago, 2-Jul-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Light attack carrier —Daniel Jassim
Great job all around, Paul, but especially on the landing gear. I've been toying around with retractable landing gear on my cap ships but I haven't come up with a design that would support the weight of the ship. I like what you did. Your design (...)         Re: Light attack carrier —Gil Shaw
(...) Not really much more I can add here that hasn't been said, other than I like the new nose configuration. It rings of a modern airlift transport....c-10 for instance. It really gives it a more utilitarian look. LOVE to see it in a pitched (...) (21 years ago, 3-Jul-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Light attack carrier —Paul Baulch
(...) Thanks Gil, the nose was one of the main reason I re-did the front - the original was just a bunch of slopes and there was no exit hatch. This version just made a ton of sense... plus I was inspired by the light gray inverse dome. Wish I had a (...) (21 years ago, 4-Jul-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Light attack carrier —Andrew Saada
(...) That's awesome. I'd love to have one of those sets at a discount. The triple-wedge formation is spiffy; as others have said, more pics please. --snip-- (...)         Re: Light attack carrier —Jeffrey Benson
(...) Paul, I love this ship! It sort of reminds me of a submarine (probably the shape), and I like the concept of a "submarine in space" ... the interior supports this as well, it looks like there are bunks in the engineering compartment? I like (...) (21 years ago, 24-Jul-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Light attack carrier —Paul Baulch
(...) Well, I think it's a far cry from the Dragonstar's interior, so that's a mighty compliment :-) I was definitely going for the submarine ethos, that overall impression. (...) They most certainly do. (...) Nope, the craft's physical design (and (...) (21 years ago, 30-Jul-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)
