| (...) Dick If, by chance, BricxCC (or NQC) happened to be the popular program to which you refer I'd love to hear more details about your software tests and the code you use for communicating with the RCX via the USB tower. | | dllx problems, with lnpd 0.9.0
| Hi, I'm having problems getting dllx to work. I expanded the lnpd 0.9.0 zip file from sourceforge. I did ./configure and make with no problems or error messages. Now, I run lnpd with "lnpd --nolock". Then I do "dllx test.lx" and the green light on (...) (19 years ago, 13-Nov-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

| | Re: RIS 2.0 or 1.5 (minimum requirements)
| The 2.0 firmware is available separately from LEGO as part of the 2.0 SDK. You can use this firmware with a 1.5 set (or even a 1.0 set). If you are not planning on using the Lego software then the only difference between 2.0 and 1.5 is that 2.0 has (...) (23 years ago, 21-Mar-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

| | RE: IR Problems
| Elizabeth is quite right. It's easy to get collisions on the IR "bus" if two devices are sending (or replying) simultaneously. What I've done in the past with two RCXs is define one RCX as primary that is periodically (every 100 to 250 milliseconds (...) (18 years ago, 2-Apr-07, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
