Hi Jenny and all other Mac users,
I 've got no problems with my PowerBook G3/400 and the usb tower running
MacNQC 3.0a4. I don't know if anyone must know that my Mac works with MacOS
9.2.2.
I installed the driver and the four additional 4 ghost files. After a
restart I got a new entry in the Preferences > Communication > Device
1. Serial: Infrared Connect
2. Serial: Internal Modem
3. USB: 5570562
Selecting the last one I can communicate to the usb tower.
Also I have no errors by using the usb tower with Robolab 2.5.1. I get a
menu to select the port. I change to usb and it's okay. Controlling and
programming with Robolab is very easy.
Yesterday I tested the original NQC 2.4r3 for Macintosh running with the MPW
Shell. You can select the port with the option -Susb
example: nqc -d -Susb -Trcx2 test.nqc
The example compiles the file test.nqc with the API 2.0 and downloads it to
the RCX via the usb tower.
Everything works fine with all - with Robolab and with MacNQC and the
original NQC. Now I don't need my Keyspan USB Adapter any more ... I used it
without any problem with the serial ir tower before the newer software
versions came out.
Hope I could help ...
Ralf

| I'm using an iBook running MacOS 9.1 I've installed MacNQC 3.0a4. It worked fine with a serial tower prior to installing the USB drivers. I installed the USB drivers and placed the cooresponding files in the extensions folder. I restarted the system (...) (23 years ago, 15-Apr-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)
