Maybe try a lego motor or similar electric motor .The electrical inputs become the outputs.I've only tried this once with a 9 volt motor by lego and it generated about 9 volts when spun at the same revs as it would have run when used as a nine volt (...) looking for a small generator that pumps 6-15 volts dc at a shaft speed of 1,000 to 5,000 rpm or 10,000 to 20,000rpm.... 12v is the key... but it is to be driven by a .12ci gas motor with a throtle, so maintaining the voltage will have to be left up (...) From the parts list, either the MC68HC11A1FN or the MC68HC11E1FN are acceptable, but on this page, the picture of the handy board has an A0FN (...) Just starting with the HB and already problems Im having problems getting the 9 to 10 volts out of pins 3-7 of J9 (the RS232 connector) when pins 6 and 10 of the MAX232 are shorted in the last paragraph of step 3.2.2. Remover the motor chip closest to you. The pins are correct. I never used a resistor. I don't remeber what the reason for using one is. Perhaps someone can repeat it.
