Additional observations:
- I made up a program to blink a spot on a computer screen as if it where a
barcdode, but didn't succeed in triggering either the Code Pilot or the
Scout. Don't know if it's fundamental or just in execution.
- Besides the three motor codes, I was able to detect several other barcodes
emitted from the Scout, like 004, 005, 006 and 007. (All sound codes when
interpreted by the Code Pilot).
- Observations indicate that the emitted barcodes are not fixed to specific
sensor or motor states. Instead they seem to be determined by the specific
program which is running. While no program is running, no barcodes will be
sent, even when e.g. the sensor indicators light up, or the motors are
controlled by remote.
- For example, most preset programs emit 004 at start, but the 'WaitFor
Touch' program starts with a 005, and emits 004 when the sensor is hit (and
keeps cycling between these, each time the sensor is pressed). 'Reverse at
Touch' program emits a 007 when either sensor is hit. 'Avoid Touch' emits
006 plus a motor command when a sensor is hit. 'Brake at Touch' emits no
barcode when a sensor is hit. The 'Light' sensor programs follow the same
pattern. And so on...

| Hi All, For the ThinkQuest 2000 contest (www.thinkquest.com or org, i forget which) I was putting together a Mindstorms site with a group of two friends. I was wondering what people on the the newsgroup/list thought of the site in its under (...) (25 years ago, 1-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)

| Additional observations: - at the start of any program, the Scout emits barcode 004 which triggers a 'steam puff' sound in the Code Pilot (if it's in record mode). The Scout seems to emit no other barcodes (but motor left, motor right, motor float (...) (25 years ago, 29-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)
