- at the start of any program, the Scout emits barcode 004 which triggers • a
'steam puff' sound in the Code Pilot (if it's in record mode). The Scout
seems to emit no other barcodes (but motor left, motor right, motor float
and puff) during the built-in programs.

I don't have the Scout, but I have a funny feeling that the Micro Scout may
also respond to these commands when it is in that "P" mode. Could somebody
verify this?

So far, the Scout hasn't responded to the barcodes, it only emits it at
certain points in its program. As I recall, in power mode it emits a barcode
when you touch 'C'-motor on the remote, but this is the same as in regular
mode.

Someone should really try to lay two scouts head to head to see if one's
light sensor responds to the barcode light of the other one. But maybe this
can only be determined when one Scout is specifically programmed to read a
barcode, which may not be in the preset programs.
