I seem to remember some wristwatches a few years ago that you could download
information to by holding them up to the computer monitor.  To program it,
you didn't actually have to drag the watch in front of the screen -- you
could just keep it stationary, and a patch of the screen blinked rapidly
between white and black for specially calculated periods of time.

I tried a little experiment on this.... The Scout light sensor can be "trained" by turning it off and then back on in a low light environment to show it what a low light reading is. Note: this can also be done by turning it on while a bright light (...) (25 years ago, 28-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Great information Eric! I had noticed that the red light pulsed but it did not occur to me that it could be a coded message. If I could get a scan of Code Pilot Code Card, I would like to do some experiments to see if and what codes the Scout (...) (25 years ago, 28-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)
