I tried a little experiment on this....
The Scout light sensor can be "trained" by turning it off and then back
on in a low light environment to show it what a low light reading is.
Note: this can also be done by turning it on while a bright light is
shining on the light sensor to train it to look for dark.
Anyway, I have a very bright 19" monitor and even with a full white
screen I cant get the Scout to recognize it as a light source. If it
can't see it as light change, there is no hope of programming it this
way. I hope I am wrong. I will continue to experiment.
p.s. I realize that many people disregard the Scout because it is not as
powerful as the RCX. What I like about it is that it still has
undiscovered secrets, many shown by Eric Brok, and that makes it very
interesting!

| (...) I seem to remember some wristwatches a few years ago that you could download information to by holding them up to the computer monitor. To program it, you didn't actually have to drag the watch in front of the screen -- you could just keep it (...) (25 years ago, 28-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)
