    Guess what. —Derek Raycraft
Just ran my bot here at home and I did the anti X in 19.94 seconds with a placement score of 75. (7 perfect, 1 good) I don't know what was so different about the library. I got none of the spastic behaviour I was getting at the there. Its so (...) (22 years ago, 24-Feb-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

        Re: Guess what. —Mario DeFacendis
What a bummer Derek! I would have loved to see your bot run (especially at 19.94 seconds). The worst thing is that Chris would have been bumped down into 3rd place -- non-prize territory! Easy insurance against similar problems in the future: how (...) (22 years ago, 24-Feb-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) Man, that sucks. I loved your robot, and I really wanted to see it work. hte design was just beautiful. Maybe you can keep it together and show us all sometime? Maybe we will do pick and place again? I, for one see lots of room for improvement (...) (22 years ago, 24-Feb-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

         Re: Guess what. —John Guerquin
(...) How did you power the LEGO light Rob? Did you wire the light sensor itself to the light, thereby using the current that the RCX sends out to active sensors to power the light? Or did you use an external battery box? John (22 years ago, 25-Feb-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

          Re: Guess what. —Rob Stehlik
(...) Battery box. Running ot off of the power supplied to the sensor is an interesting idea, but I doubt it would work very well. The light is brightest with a full 9V. I think the light sensor only recieves 5V or less. Rob (22 years ago, 26-Feb-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

         Re: Guess what. —Derek Raycraft
(...) I'd love to do a contest like this again. Maybe modify it at little to change things up, but keep the basic concept the same. I was thinking for a tougher contest, beyond this one, we could turn the board up on its side, and stack the blocks. (...) (22 years ago, 26-Feb-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

         Re: Guess what. —David Koudys
(...) omgoodness!! I love this idea! It'll have to be done with multiple RCX's fer sure! We use the 4 stud cubes that we used for block stacking/sorting, et al... White and Black, and see what happens! Oh so many ideas!!! Dave (22 years ago, 26-Feb-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

        Re: Guess what. —Matthias Jetleb
(...) Welcome to the club. As of thursday night, mine was running the anti-x in about 29 seconds - some patterns in 27 seconds, although, my robot doesn't do a pre-scan and therefore has to search every square in the X, there isn't a lot of (...)         110 VAC powered lego motors —Chris Magno
in some other thread, Mathias said: (...) I don't follow this. if 110 VAC (or some amount) goes in, it drops down to 9 (ish) i know for a fact that the RCX does not have a transformer, so the regulation has to be solid state..... ergo, somewhere in (...)         Re: 110 VAC powered lego motors —Trevyn Watson
Wall current is not the same everywhere. It is not even always the same over time. I measured my wall voltage once, and it was 117. Now it's 120. Most wall wart adapters drop the voltage by a specific amount, so if the designers of a 9v adapter were (...) (22 years ago, 27-Feb-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: 110 VAC powered lego motors —Matthias Jetleb
(...) It's two "t"'s Mr. Mango :-) (...) My point here is this: I was using the Lego train transformer, which is just that: a transformer (10:1 ie. 120VAC in yields 12VAC out - no regulation, no filtering) If the voltage at the wall drops 8.3% (...)      (...) Yes, but the overall plot arc is that you're all still trying to figure out why your ProjectXen didn't beat Rob or didn't function properly.          Re: 110 VAC powered lego motors —Phil Schilling
(...) HI Everybody Why don't we just do it on the floor and have a line 12" after the finish line and you can't cross it or you're DQed.
