Sorry Shiri...I don't do the whole Macintosh/Windows flame war thing. After all, they are ALL personal computers, no matter the processor/OS/etc. in the box. Can anyone tell me how I can print a file directory? I suddenly have the need, but I've never done it before. Wow! Thanks for that info Matt. (and thanks to Dan Boger who sent me a note offline) PS/EPS are nifty. I can see the value in using PS or EPS when *you* are the image source. Does anyone know of any good and free cad sofware for windows(or linux)? I have an idea for something and I would like to try to draw out some plans. -chris ps. it's been >9 years since i touched a cad program so i'm not sure what type of learning (...) (...) The Linksys will allow this. If I recall correctly it splits up a class C subnet (192.x.x.x ??), half for DHCP and the other half as dedicated to MACs. (...) defenitly you can use DSL with a LAN - what you have to do is have the server do NAT (Network address translation), which means you have multiple computers on the same ip. you can do that with any win98 and higher, via software, and of course, (...) I have a home network that sounds very similer to yours and had, initially, similer problems. I solved virtually all problems with a BEFSR41 from Linksys. It sends a request, waits a few seconds, receives a reply during that time, then turns off. The idle state of the tower is off, and (...) It's similar enough to that used by remote controls that learning remotes can pick up the signals, but I haven't heard of anyone going the other way around. Ooh! Ouch! The memories! I had a daisy-wheel printer for my (get this) Radio Shack/Tandy TRS-80 computers when I was a little kid (models I - V, Model 1000, CoCo)!
