The mechanical engineer in automotive with 3-4 years experience would
earn about 45,000 to 65,000 I would say. New grad engineers start
in the 45,000 range. Engineers with 5-8 years experience will be
in the 55,000 to 75,000 range. Above 8 years and you're generally
over 65,000. There are many exception and factors to consider, but
these are good estimates.
Canadian engineers see salaries with the same numbers (maybe slightly
lower), but change the USD to CAD. For example, new grads starting
at CAD 45,000.
