Putting aside whether it's your civic duty to peacefully break unjust laws
or not (a topic in its own right!),we're finding here in the states that
just because you get a ticket (mailed to you), it doesn't mean you
necessarily broke the law.
I would refer you to posts about red light cameras made here... these
cameras aren't always right, and need to be stopped, they're bogus. Worse,
they're encouraging authorities to tinker with the light timings to
manufacture more transgressors as a revenue enhancement opportunity,
incidentally causing a lot more rearend accidents than the T-bones that are
prevented.
But raising the cost of the ticket may mean more people fight it instead of
docilely paying. Is that a good thing? Not sure. I'd rather the laws were
just to start with.

It is my view that anyone doing anything above 100 kph is, in fact, breaking the law. Pretty much cut 'n dry. Whether the QEW or (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

| (...) I got a parking ticket notice from the city of San Francisco a number of years back. I was a bit puzzled since I hadn't been there in a year, but how do I prove it? It was as easy as checking the date: a half dozen of us were in SoCal (or (...) (22 years ago, 22-Jan-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

| So I'm at my friendly neighbourhood automechanic this morning, getting some much needed work done on my vehicle, and I overhear an older gentleman talking about his trip to Alberta. He said that, when he was in Alberta, he found out that the (...) (22 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)
