You can probably build one of those things (or a close equivalent) with a
few tubs at a third the cost.  I would have considered buying something like
the prototype, with lots of slopes, but I can't see any reason to buy the
production model.  I feel sorry for the people who absolutely must collect
everything LEGO produces.  8.3 cents a piece is pretty expensive for basic
bricks.

Un-frigging believable!  The minifig doesn't have the 6005 arches for • hands like
the prototype does.

Well, forget buying THAT ugly thing - the prototype looked really good - • the final
product SUCKS.

There is also a new promotional set that retails for $9.99, or is free • with a
$75 catalog purchase. The set is 3439 Spy Runner, a small aircraft with • a
ground support vehicle.

at LEGO.com and it still says it's not possible to do that.

A couple sets caught my eye though...

The 20" mini-fig set. Builds a smiley-faced mini-fig in overhauls and • green
baseball cap. Over 1,800 pieces. $150. Now everyone can have their own • LEGO
Buddy. I wish it was a Star Wars character though.

The Steven Spielberg movie maker set with camera. The camera is • probably the
reason for the $180 price tag. The road plates in it break apart to • simulate
an
earthquake, complete with lava in the fissure. Steven Spielberg is • also
represented in mini-fig scale. The best mini-fig in the set though is • the
female starlet with the blue tube top!

Better start saving now...

I agree, for $150 you can buy close to 7 basic 1200 blue tubs and build a few of these things. I would have been much more intersted if they had kept the slopes and arches in the set. jt (...) (24 years ago, 6-Sep-00, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.general)
