opinions sought on selling a mass amount of Lego —Joel Kuester
Hello! I have about 800 lbs of Lego or somewhere around 500,000 parts that I am going to be selling in the near future. I am curious to know what more experienced buyers and sellers of The Brick would estimate this collection at, or if anyone would (...) (22 years ago, 12-Mar-02, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

(...) Nooo...ooo.......! (D'oh). Er, not that you shouldn't sell it per se, I just hope that doesn't mean we won't see any more great creations from you. Your Jetfire and your Star Wars creations in general were inspirational. Unless, of course, (...) (22 years ago, 13-Mar-02, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

Re: opinions sought on selling a mass amount of Lego —Joel Kuester
(...) Hi, Thanks, its nice to hear that... but this is all I got, and if I am able to sell it, I won't be buying any more. So that kinda guarantees I won't be building. (...) I wish! :) (...) Yikes.. I wasn't going to address this issue. But since (...) (22 years ago, 13-Mar-02, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

Hey Joel. After reading this I felt I had a ton of things to say to you but I could be typing for an hour so I might as well keep it short. If you've really made up your mind about this then I know anyhting I say won't help but I'll do it anyway. I (...) (22 years ago, 13-Mar-02, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

heya Jon, (...) The problem is, I have tried, and I keep getting caught up in projects. There is some OCD in my family, and this might be mine popping up in the form of a friendly Brick :) (...) I don't really let the online goofiness upset me, its (...)       I pretty much agree with what Jon said, which in a nutshell is: don't go. I can't blame you for worrying about your art suffering though, although there could be numerous factors affecting that. I haven't touched a pencil or a paintbrush since (...)           Re: opinions sought on selling a mass amount of Lego —Joel Kuester
(...) hi, I find that I have a hard time focusing on things, and I get pulled mentally in a hundred different directions in my normal life, but when I am working creatively, I can focus totally and clearly on what I am working on. I have always (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-02, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

(...) *snip* (...) I don't think you've got anything to worry about--I started having intrusive "bad" thoughts that would prevent me (significantly) from doing normal behavior & cause significant distress. I just think it shows you'd rather be doing (...) (22 years ago, 16-Mar-02, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

Re: opinions sought on selling a mass amount of Lego —Jeremy Scott
The best way to get your mind off of something is to disable your ability to use it. IE: Druggies go to institutions to get off the streets and away from the places to buy the stuff. In a lesser dramatic way, I was addicted to computer games, (...) (22 years ago, 15-Mar-02, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

(...) Hey Joel, you are always welcome to come over and play with my Lego, whatever you do with yours. Now that I live 15 minutes away and all. A parallel. Lego on my desk stopped me from writing computer games. Recently I have admitted that I will (...) (22 years ago, 16-Mar-02, to lugnet.market.appraisal, lugnet.general)

(...) Sorry to hear about your disillusionment with LEGO, Joel. I thought you were really hitting stride with your train and town MOCs, as seen at the NILTC's first show. My advice would be to just box all of them up and store them-- out of sight, (...) (22 years ago, 13-Mar-02, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

Re: opinions sought on selling a mass amount of Lego —Joel Kuester
(...) I hope you believe me when I say I am not disillusioned with Lego right now, I love building more than ever! That's why this is driving me nuts... half of me wants to keep it and the other half wants to get rid of it. Its half a money issue, (...) (22 years ago, 14-Mar-02, to lugnet.market.appraisal)

Joel, I know this decision didn't come out of the blue, but, I hope there was not something that happened Monday? That little green and white house you saw is one of my pitiful excuses for a MOC, constructed in 30 minutes when a pile of green slopes (...)         Re: opinions sought on selling a mass amount of Lego —Will Middelaer
(...) I think that adding so many parts to Bricklink might lead to a fall in prices on some of the lots you put up. The entirety of Bricklink right now has only 3.6 million items up for sale (including sets and parts). Dumping another 14-15% of the (...)
