Yes, I've come to expect that anytime anyone announces something here on
Lugnet they get pissed on. We have people deciding it isn't worth
announcing sales or deals they've found because they get pissed on. TLC
gets pissed on for almost every announcement they make. If we keep it
up, TLC is just going to decide that we're a bunch of whiners and stop
telling us anything, and stop listening to us.

A while ago people were complaining about how Lugnet seems to be getting
less friendly, well this kind of junk is a lot of what is causing that
perception. I personally am getting really sick of some of the stuff
which goes on here.

So am I.  I think that if we want to see stuff from LEGO, we need to be a bit
more welcoming of their efforts.  Most of the negative feedback LEGO gets here
is from uninformed, post-happy people (note, not all, most).  Those people
should learn to read LEGO posts at face value and not extrapolate the
conclusions they want to in order to have something to complain about.  We won't
get very far if all some people do is complain.  LEGO Direct is here to work
with us (and that they are), we should welcome them.

I'm starting to think that most, if not all complaints to LEGO Direct (except
about the website not functioning properly) are mostly noise.  I'm glad I don't
have to read this when I go to work.

Well said, Tim and Frank... (...) <snip> It is instructive to look at other fan/hobby forums. The most productive relationships between fans and their annointed companies happen when the company embraces the fans as having valid ideas and in turn (...) (...) An agreement to exchange some technology and marketting is nowhere near a merger. If that was a "merger", there probably would effectively be a monopoly, a single "company" would serve the whole world. (...) Yes, I've come to expect that (...)
