Re: Why do so many people say "I will only ship to the us"?

I've got to second what Dave Johann writes. Having lived in the UK for about two years over two different time periods, I can say that, on average, the U. S. banking system simply isn't prepared to deal with international currency transactions (in (...) (24 years ago, 7-May-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Why do so many people say "I will only ship to the us"?

Sadly, you're right. Other countries have interest in foreign exchange, and often have to contract deals in USDs. The US, OTOH, is ruling the market and thus does not care (as much) about other currencies. That's too bad for other countries. I'll (...) (24 years ago, 7-May-00, to lugnet.general)

Re: Why do so many people say "I will only ship to the us"?

I really look forward to a secure money transaction service with reasonable fees, but so far I haven't seen any. Due to all shameless bank fees and their even more shameless lack of interest in helping out with international money transactions, I (...) (24 years ago, 7-May-00, to lugnet.general)
